There is nothing more important than your documents and files, which is why you should always make sure that they're backed up on an external hard drive somewhere in a fireproof safe. Because you never know when the robots will rise up and destroy your computer. However, if you want to access your files in a more organized manner, check out these two apps that are absolutely essential. Not only are they free but they do the wonderful duty of keeping your files in tip top shape--and accessible!Mac
NameChanger
There is always at least one orphan folder hard drive on your folder that's looking for somebody to love it back. Why not do the good deed by adopting it and giving a home? You can start by giving it a name that's actually useful. NameChanger can do that for you, and at a rapid pace, too. This app renames a list of files quickly and easily so that you don't have to go through each individual file and give it a different name. It also enables quick look, inline name changes, and drag and drop. This app doesn't take up much room on your computer, so there's no reason not to download it.
Dropbox
Alright. You know this app really well and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Normally we don't feature apps that are already so well known (and we don't usually pair iOS devices into one category), but the reason that we're featuring it in this Free App Friday is because the app has just had a major update, especially for the iPad. The new updates include a complete user interface overhaul, file caching, full-screen landscape file viewing on the iPad, multitasking downloading (which will be wondrous when the iPad is capable of this in the next software update), and the ability to create folders. The app is already wonderful because it enables you to view photos, videos, documents and your presentations already in your Dropbox, as well as save photos and videos from the iPhone, which makes for a hassle free file transfer.
Seriously, if you don't already have Dropbox, what are you waiting for? The app is free and so is an acount and it's one of the must-have apps you've gotta get on your iOS device.
