iOS developers love developing games that star adorable characters. That’s why, we decided to highlight some of our favorite new adorable games that've landed in the App Store. Check it out.

Cut the Rope has all the makings of an iOS classic: good graphics, constantly escalating difficulty, and that oh-so-important “levels to come in future updates” note in their app description.
In Cut the Rope, your task is to help feed a cut little monster pieces of candy. The little green monster then moves around the various edges of the stage, making adorable noises and pointing to its adorable little mouth. You have to then cut the ropes in order to drop candy for the monster to eat. If the monster doesn’t get the candy, then he makes yet another adorable face that you just can't help but squeal over.

D'awww.
Our only serious gripe with the game is that it sometimes asks you to rate it between levels--that is, unless you select the option that tells it to never ask you again. Developers, take note: we bought it, so there's no need to constantly solicit us for 5-star ratings. That’s in poor taste and we hate it.

But, it’s obviously working.
Cut the Rope has a free version, a paid version, an HD Lite version and an HD version. If you’re choosing between the four, we think that the game is best suited for on-the-go play and so we like it for the iPhone. But it really depends on you the and the iOS devices you've got laying around.

Baseball Superstars 2010 HD is one of those cartoony baseball games where every action is performed via almost excruciatingly simple actions. You swing, pitch and steal bases by tapping the corresponding button, but it feels oh-so-right on the iPad.

This is how you select passes.
Part of what makes the game seem more advanced then it is are the various gameplay options. You can sub out a batter or a pitcher for a superstar, play a season with an ever-improving team, or even play your way through a pretty cool mode in which you only play the plays for a single player. Your individual hits and pitches will be all that stands between your team’s victory and failure. Awesome?

Awesome.

What’s cuter than a rat riding a scooter? If you said “Any mammal besides a rat riding a scooter” you’d be onto something. But we like this rat in Donut Games’ platformer, which is free for a limited time.

Rat on a scooter, eating cheese for life!
Like most platformers, Rat on a Scooter is as simple as slicing cheese. Just tap the button to jump, or hold the button down to jump higher and grind on ledges to do totally awesome combos. We’ll take it.

Our all-time best was improved from 12 to 100!
That’s it for this week’s iOS Game Time: Adorable Edition. If you have an idea for a game we should cover, or a theme you’d like us to work with, sound off in the comments.
