Welcome to the Mac|Life Tablet Edition!

Welcome to the Mac|Life Tablet Edition!

Tell us what you think about our new iPad app!

We’ve tried to do more than just give you a PDF reader (after all, you probably picked up iBooks a while ago) by focusing on what the iPad can do that paper magazines can’t--interactivity, social media, video, and so on.

But this is definitely our test-run on iPad (that’s why this first app is free, and yes, we’ll be charging for future issues). So while we love compliments as much as everyone else, what we’d really like to hear is your feedback. What can we do better? What can we add next time around? Chime in below in the Comments, and thanks for downloading our app and sharing your thoughts.

I have to say... it is awesome.I like the way variuos items moves.I like that you can rate and share articles.I don't like that you can't zoom or enlarge the font.I don't like the quality of the images after enlarging it.I hope to see more...

Definitely a good first pass there is no doubt about that.  I'm completely fine with the paid model for future versions, but I would expect that the price should be fair considering there is really no physical deliverable.  I do realize that the content will have to be created specific for the iPad, but it shouldn't be that taxing after the first few passes, just as delivering a physical magazine the first few times.

Will this be something that is included when you purchase the Digital version or will this be another fee?

Great app, like all the additional features - I get fed up with viewing magazines on the iPad that don't add any value - they're fine but they don't use the full potential - I like this app because it goes several steps further and includes lots of nice features that make better use of the iPad - although I struggled once I navigated away to get back to the same page......

Hi MacLife Well I must say I loved your Tablet Edition of MacLife - great job, and really good implementation. Looking forward to the next edition - maybe you could let us know when that would be?? Also, whilst I understand you will charge (I'm cool with that) please consider the pricing, and also ensure we have a way to access historic copies which we can back up either to a cloud offering of to a desk based machine. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Richard - Arlingham, UK.

I have been waiting for the next issue for over a month now. When will it be available?

I have been a fan of Mac Life for a long time. A subscription form came today (I let it lapse, shame on me) and it promoted me to search the app store to see if Mac Life had an offering. Gave it a run and it is every bit of high quality offering that the print editions are. As I get ready to renew I am hoping that the digital content will be a bonus for subscribers.

Well done, i like the layout and interactive features. I can't wait for this to become a full-on app. It represents the quality I have come to expect from Mac Life.

This app has not been updated with any new editions since it's introduction.  For no additonal content in 5 months is a huge failure from one of the premier Mac magazines.  MacLife really has to rethink their digital strategy.  This could have been a new revenue generator, but it's just a missed opportunity.  To quote Paul Curthoys editorial in the first issue: "We have big plans...".Paul, what happended?  Not only is there no new content in 5 months, but MacLife has gone completely silent on the Tablet Edition.
