Happy “new iPad” Day! It’s been a long day for those of us here at MacLife.com, pecking away at our keyboards until our fingers are mere nubs, all in the name of getting you, the dear readers, the latest and greatest Apple news as quickly as (in)humanly possible. But the new iPad and a new Apple TV aren’t the only surprises from Cupertino today -- you’ll be busy this evening downloading lots and lots of updates, so here are the ones you’ll be looking for this fine Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
Now that U.S. carriers have started rolling out their 4G LTE networks, all eyes are on Apple as we wait to see when the technology might come to the iPhone. A new report claims it’s unlikely to launch until 2012, while production of the current iPhone 4 is slowing down ahead of the next model expected in September.
AT&T is firing on all cylinders at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, and most of their news is related to the company’s forthcoming 4G LTE plans. Among the companies listed as launching LTE devices in 2012 is Apple -- does that mean what we think it does?
You know, some of us around the Mac|Life staff have some pretty hefty student loans outstanding. If only there were some way to meet the steep cost of college. Hey, I know, let's sell white iPhones! Sound crazy? It isn't.
Apple really seems to know how to time their roll outs and their upgrades to keep interest at the maximum peak. First there was the iPad, then the announcement of what was then called iPhone OS 4.0, then all the "leaks" of the fourth generation iPhone, then the iPhone 4 along with iOS 4 and Safari 5.0 and the new Mac Minis and new MacBooks and Apple TV and and and there's just no end to it, is there? And as of next week, the brand new mobile operating system will be in everyone's hands for real and honest and – guess what? – we'll all be buzzing about that for weeks on end. Yeah, Apple's really got the whole release cycle down pat.
Meanwhile, here's the latest and the greatest from what's buzzing around the Mac|Life crew.
