Apparently Steve Jobs has decided to randomly throw a Macworld Conference in Boston, even though the Boston Expo ceased to exist years ago. Regardless, Steve and company felt it was important to share some information at the defunct conference. A message that will surely destroy the future of Apple. Here is the news directly for the most important source in technology.

Well, we were wrong, and not only us, but Walt Mossberg. In order to make sure that he wasn't an senial drunk, God knows we don't want a mouth full of Ben Gay, we found some proof that this did in fact happen some 12 years ago. Bill makes his appearance 31 minutes into the keynote.

Macworld Expo 2010 Pushed to February

The 2010 Macworld Expo: It's caused a lot of hand-wringing, ever since Apple announced that it was pulling out of every Macworld Expo after this past January's, when Phil Schiller gave the final Apple keynote. IDG World Expo, the company that puts on the shindig, did a town hall event at this year's show to start a dialogue about what the Expo would look like when Apple quits the scene.

Today IDG has announced that the 2010 Macworld Expo will be held February 9 through 13 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Traditionally, this Expo is held in early January, but this change was made from feedback from Expo exhibitors and attendees, who could now theoretically squeeze in both Macworld and the ever-growing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which will happen January 7 through 10, 2010.

Apple is rumored to be appearing at CES 2010, which would contradict its reasoning for abandoning the Macworld Expo, which was that the company didn't need trade shows to reach consumers thanks to the popularity of its Apple Stores. The Consumer Electronics Association, which runs CES, told CNET that it planned to have a Mac-centric area at CES 2010, and of course it would be great to see our favorite computer company there, but so far Apple hasn't confirmed anything.

The new Macworld 2010 dates also include a Saturday: "This shift will provide all attendees, including full-time professionals, with more flexible times and convenient weekend access to the show floor," reads IDG's press release. Exhibit hall passes, offered free of charge, are available here.

Apple Makes the Jump to CES 2010?

Cult of Mac first spread the word last week that Apple will indeed be making its debut at CES 2010. All the reasons for Apple showing up at CES seem to contradict all the reasons Apple decided to drop the Macworld Expo.

Apple claims that trade shows have become less of a priority and have become a burden on their time and budget. NY Times David Pogue interviewed Phil Schiller last week asking a bit more of why they were pulling out of Macworld entirely. Schiller admitted that January just didn't coincide with their product release life cycle.

That makes it difficult to believe that Apple seems fired up to attend CES 2010 according to AppleInsider. The company could be trying to expand its reach beyond the its core audience. The question is, will Apple go tow-to-toe with Microsoft's keynote at CES with their own, or will they just have a booth. Until we get official word from Apple, we'll just have to wonder.
