Psystar, the Florida-based manufacturers of the unauthorized Mac clones
that have been the scrutiny of a long-time court battle, has filed for
Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The move is likely to delay the proceedings in
the Apple case, though Psystar may not be able to finance its
continuing defense against Apple.

Psystar has managed a small victory
against Apple. The Florida-based Mac cloner will be permitted to answer
Apple’s lawsuit by using copyright misuse in its defense.

It seems the battle between Psystar and Apple grows increasingly hostile as
time progresses. Psystar now claims that legally purchasing copies of
Mac OS X, allow for the operating system to be distributed on
unofficial machines.
