Mobile chat services are great, until you don't have an internet connection and the conversation goes dark. That's where FireChat could potentially come in, tapping into the power of iOS 7 to offer chat with other users near and far.
A little something for everyone in this week's Price Drop including something for you fans of the cosmos, something for the teachers out there, and something to trim the flab from your midsection and get you buffed for the summer. It’s not the heaviest week we’ve seen for iOS releases lately, but a handful of headliners have us excited to raid the App Store shortly. Surgeon Simulator brings its hilariously cumbersome operations to iPad, while Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork and Dudeski are new promising indies to check out. We already know Smash Hit is stellar — check out our review from earlier — but side-scrolling sci-fi adventure Mines of Mars is also intriguing, as are Wave Wave, Block Fortress: War, and the second episode of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season Two. Be sure to keep an eye out for full reviews of some of these titles in the coming days, and then check back next Thursday for an all-new list of notable games to consider.
Apple faced another setback in its ongoing patent spat with Samsung overnight as Judge Lucy Koh dished out a denial of Cupertino's attempt to gain a permanent injunction against the Korean manufacturer. It's certainly far from the end of that legal skirmish and Apple still has an opportunity to appeal the decision, but it also offers Samsung some wiggle room as well. Thankfully, the rest of today's overnight recap is (mostly) less dramatic, so let's dive in...
