There's a horribly pessimistic saying in which second place is called "first loser." But when talking about the absolute largest, most recognizable brands on the planet, second place sure seems like a huge achievement. According to one yearly list, Apple has grabbed the silver spot.
Everybody knew the iPhone 5 was going to sell well. Apple's new device had already forced the company to push back pre-orders, noting initial demand was well over two million units. Today, Apple announced iPhone 5 sales had actually broke the five million mark in a scant three days.
We sure spend an awful lot of time talking about Apple's courtroom adventures these days. Whether it's patent lawsuits, or charges against Polish grocery stores, Cupertino is keeping its legal team busy.
