Apple continues to roll out celebrity-powered television commercials for Siri, with the latest starring film director Martin Scorsese as he maneuvers the mean streets of New York in a taxi cab, with Siri helping guide the way.
Actor John Malkovich may not be the next actor you’d expect to see in a pair of Apple commercials following in the footsteps of Samuel L. Jackson and Zooey Deschanel, but that’s exactly who you’ll find discussing “Life” and “Joke” with Siri next.
Apple has used celebrities sparingly to pimp their product, most notably with the classic “Think Different” ad campaign. But the company appears to be going in a new direction, starting with a pair of television commercials that popped up Monday night.
Apple takes a break from the voiceovers traditionally used in their television commercials with the new “iCloud Harmony” spot, which offers a quick glimpse into how the free service can enhance the lives of iOS device users. Spending big money to advertise a free product? Priceless.
