iPhone 4 users haven’t been content with Apple’s response thus far to their alleged reception issues, so Cupertino has taken to their website to post a response for all to see. As it turns out, the “issue” may indeed be much ado about nothing.
If you need further proof that the iPhone 4 is the most popular out of the four generations thus far, look no further than to the photo above. That’s not folks sitting outside an AT&T store in Loganville, Georgia from last week -- it’s from early Tuesday morning, as folks are lining up yet again as AT&T gets their new stock.
If you survived the pre-order hysteria a week ago, and if you were lucky enough to escape having your iPhone 4 order cancelled over the weekend, you may very well be rewarded for your luck by receiving your new little friend a day early. But if you’re still planning to buy on Thursday, take heart that at least one Walmart store has already received stock of the handset.
If you sat out last Tuesday’s iPhone 4 pre-order meltdown and hoped to saunter into your local Best Buy to grab the handset come this Thursday, June 24, you may want to rethink that plan. A wealth of data has been leaked from Best Buy, including a launch day manual that outlines the big box retailer’s plans for Thursday as well as some early inventory reports.
Few tech events are as exciting as when that latest gadget actually ships (except maybe for when it actually arrives, of course). Over the weekend, Apple started sending shipment notifications for the iPhone 4 as customers watched their order status change from “Not Yet Shipped” to “Prepared For Shipment” and finally “Shipped”. Unfortunately, not everyone appears to be so lucky.
If The Great White North didn’t already feel slighted by not getting the new iPhone 4 on June 24 along with the U.S. and a handful of international locales, the Canadians may yet have a reason to shake their normally laid-back demeanor, assuming a new rumor is true.
By now, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that folks are willing to camp out in the summer heat to grab the latest Apple gadget. Heck, in the case of the iPhone 4, it might not even be a bad idea, considering the nightmare pre-order situation for the device, which is currently fetching as much as $5,000 on eBay. Apple’s latest whiz-bang gizmo officially has its first line-sitter, and this time it’s not in New York City.
As you’ve know doubt heard by now, the iPhone 4 is off to a rocky start, with pre-orders sold out most everywhere, including Apple’s website and AT&T. But the partners in crime are laughing all the way to the bank, it would seem, as a new report claims the pent-up demand for the iPhone 4 is as much as 10 times larger than the previous model.
Some days, it just doesn’t pay to live in the United States. Take today, for instance, as Apple begins taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4 both here in the U.S. and in a handful of international locations, including the United Kingdom. While we’re SIM-locked to one carrier, the often-controversial AT&T, U.K. iPhone 4 buyers not only have plenty of choices for their carrier, they can even buy a totally unlocked, SIM-free handset, too.
