It’s the classic “good news, bad news” scenario: iPhone users are about to get cheaper data plans and tethering (finally!), but AT&T is making good on their long-threatened plans to cap your data usage.
Hello? Is this thing on? Is there anyone out there? Echo! Echo! Echo!
Okay, okay, we get it. It's Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of the summer. No one's sitting inside on their computer, are they? Heck no, they're grilling up fun, lounging in the sun, putting a dog in a bun. Well, just in case you're not one of those people, or you're not from the States, here's the week's best stories from the vacationing kids of Mac|Life.
Earlier this week, AT&T increased its early termination fees from $175 to $325 for existing customers, supposedly in a move that would keep current customers from leaving for other mobile carriers--specifically Verizon.
It was a slow week in big Mac news. The lull before the storm that is WWDC, no doubt. Google made a few waves, it's true, but they weren't very big ones. Facebook was Facebook, Twitter for iPhone finally came out...and, yeah. Like we said, nothing really earth shattering.
Still, the week was not without its points of interest, small though they may be. For real. So let's take a peek under the covers and see what did and didn't change the world, at least according to Mac|Life.
