It’s hard to imagine Apple’s future products without Jonathan Ive behind them, but recent reports claimed the iconic designer planned a return to his U.K. home turf -- rumors that are now being called false.
He’ll always be “Sir Steve” to us! According to a report made public only this week, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was up for honorary knighthood by the British government a couple of years ago, only to be roundly rejected by none other than the Prime Minister himself.
After last month’s announcement that the largest retail store chain in the U.K. would start offering the iPhone, now comes word that Tesco is also slashing prices that would make even its U.S. cousin Wal-Mart jealous.
Next time U.K. shoppers drop into their local Tesco store for a loaf of bread, they’ll also be able to pick up an iPhone at the same time, courtesy of a new partnership with local carrier O2.
If you're an unhappy T-Mobile customer in the UK, they might allow you to upgrade to an iPhone even though they're not an authorized carrier of the phone.
