Just a couple days after the prequel to the highly successful iPhone RPG Chaos Rings was launched, Square Enix is back to tout the release of a sequel to the original game. Sony may be trying to piggyback news of their games on top of each other in an attempt to stay in the news, but we couldn't care less when the games look/are so good.
Ordinarily we don't tend to post about small-scale iOS app sales. Usually we save those kinds of articles for gigantic company-wide sales around holidays, but this time we're going to make an exception. Maybe we're just in that kind of mood, or maybe it's a slow news day. Or maybe it's because these two games could justifiably be called the two best games ever released for iOS.
As we reported late last month, it appears that the single best iOS RPG on the planet (Earth), Chaos Rings, will be getting a prequel release tonight. The game has already released in New Zealand which signifies that it's on its way around the globe, arriving in App Stores world-wide around midnight in that respective time zone.
In case you missed it last year, Chaos Rings was one of the very best RPGs ever to be released on the iOS platform. Even after the release of Final Fantasy III, it's still probably the best. Made by Square Enix (the legendary purveyors of fine RPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest,) it was one of the first iOS games to truly justify a high $13 price tag. Now, apparently Square Enix found some success with the title because they're expanding the series with two brand new games.
