Unlike the vast majority of color-matching puzzle games, the play mechanics that power Fractal: Make Blooms Not War may not be readily apparent the first time you play it, nor does the game offer up a dead-simple intro tutorial. Fractal is a bit obtuse, no doubt, but this elegant puzzler is well worth scratching your head for, as the grid-shifting approach gives it a unique feel unlike that of its contemporaries.
This music game for iPad hits the sweet spot between difficult and soothing. The gameplay is so basic they don't even bother explaining it to you. But it's also exhilarating and lovely, and addictive in a way we can't quite explain either.
You may not have heard of Auditorium, but trust us when we say it's one of the most unique and intriguing games on the iOS platform. It fuses great puzzle gaming with rhythm and music. So we're not exaggerating when we say the announcement of the creator's (Cipher Prime) next game, Pulse, was a great thrill. Now we're getting word that the game has passed approval and will be released on Thursday, May 5.
