In the spirit of the season, we're taking on one of our own columns here on Mac|Life and going toe-to-toe, price tag to price tag. There's a great round up of Black Friday deals on our front page today, but let's see if we can beat a few of those deals with some refurb selections. Keep in mind, the Black Friday prices highlighted elsewhere are on new items, whereas refurbs are used products, but Apple-certified and good to go. So if you don't mind used Apples, let the games begin!
To mix up our refurb presentations this week, we're going to show you the range from base model to the priciest option on the market. Depending on the week, Apple has just about every stop between the two points, so if you want more than the base but less than the biggest ticket, there's probably something for you.
Could it be Apple's refresh of the Mac mini that has these beloved little boxes back in refurb-land, ready for you to snatch up at deal prices? Hmm, could be. All we know for sure is that we're not complaining and you shouldn't either, just hop on board these awesome deals.
We've got to say that there's a product in this week's deals that blows our minds. We won't say which one here, but it's a definite problem solver that hooks you up with some serious coolness and the price is a knockout. So enjoy this week's offerings of tasty Mac deals and when you see it, we hope you recognize a piece of genius when it's right there in front of you.
We're gonna be straight with you here: we've got some snazzy deals this week, but when we saw those gorgeous 27" Retina Display iMacs today they really knocked us out. It's always like that when the newest Macs are up there on the big screen. Which is not to say these aren't pretty amazing machines at astounding prices this week, but we suspect that, like us, you may still have new iMac stars in your eyes. Still, there are some incredible deals so let's get to the good stuff for this week.
Occasionally, we like to take a break from featuring Macs on discount and turn our attention full on to the iOS devices that make our day-to-day lives easier, better, more connected (and more distracted). So this week's round up of the latest, greatest deals on Apple gear will feature all your favorite handhelds, so let's get tapping.
This week's refurbs, specifically in the MacBook Air range, are really a matter of horse trading. Bigger screen or faster flash-storage? Newer model versus nearly the same older, bigger model with only a tiny bump on the price tag? It's all a matter of what you need versus what you want. Also this week: the 2013 Mac Pro!
So while you're all busy checking out iOS 8 and enjoying tap tap tapping your mobile screens, we've got a boatload of discounts for you. While we've enjoyed the latest, newest Airs and the like coming to the refurb store, this week we're returning to our ~$1,000 limit on refurb Macs. Part of what makes refurbs so awesome is their discount pricing, but once you're up over $1,500 anyway, a discount seems less pressing. So without further ado, here's the best sorta kinda under a grand Macs and plenty other much cheaper goodies to boot.
We've told you before about grabbing the Mac minis when we offer them. This week's crop of refurbs is fresh out of the diminutive powerhouse desktops, but fear not, we have plenty of great deals including, like last week, some of the newest model MacBook Airs we've seen yet. But our youngest model of all is an iMac that just hit the market as a new model this very June — and best of all, it's under a grand. So let's get into these tasty deals while they're hot!
As everyone who reads these columns more than once knows that we like to focus on refurbs that aren't too old. Picking a Mac that's 2 years old gets you a decent enough machine, but everyone prefers brand-spanking new. This week, we're excited because there are some MacBook Airs in here from THIS YEAR. That's pretty doggone new, and all our others are less than 1 year old, so these are some pretty sweet refurbs in action.
