We've rounded up a few apps that can help you take control of your own life--and the lives of others. Hmmm…apparently Apple may have been listening to the cries of many who claimed that late August/early September was way too long for receiving a free iPhone 4 case. As we mentioned earlier, Apple promised to make its free iPhone 4 case program available later this week -- and that time has arrived. In a unique twist, in order to claim your free iPhone 4 case, you first have to download an app to your device, which then lets you select the case of your choice.

And if you're not interested in the stars, then maybe you can use these apps as ideas to spark up conversations at future cocktail parties.
