Well, what a lame way to end an otherwise normal Wednesday on the internet. As of July 1, Google will shut down its ubiquitous RSS service, Reader. After almost 8 years as the go-to spot for keeping tabs on everything from news to blogs, we'll all have to find a new way to gobble up internet information later this year.
For some time now, Android users have enjoyed the benefits of Google Now. As a personal digital assistant, the service is a handy alternative to Apple's Siri, providing all kinds of up-to-date information. If a purportedly leaked video is the real deal, iOS users may be able to check out Google Now in the near future.
Back in December, Google updated the user interface on its Gmail app for iOS. Today, the company has also updated the Gmail experience on mobile browsers, featuring the same new look and improved functions as the app. According to Google, the changes are a response to positive feedback from users.
