The new iPhones are here! Well, not quite — but those looking to buy one of the new candy-colored iPhone 5c models can at least preorder on Friday, and presumably will have the device in hand come Sept. 20, when the rest of us can wander into a retail store and buy one. If you're preordering, drop us a line in the comments and let us know which color and storage capacity you're laying down cash for!
If you’ve owned more than one iPod or iPhone, there’s likely a stash of unused white earbuds tucked away somewhere. Apple may have nailed it with their devices but for many, those now-iconic earbuds leave a lot to be desired. But you don’t have to give up style for sound quality. Incase has come to the rescue with a pair of fashionable headphones capable of controlling Apple devices--they sound great, and have sleek good looks that will turn heads.
In this week's Best Case Scenario, I ignored the fact that you just dropped gobs of money on that brand new iPhone 4S and reviewed iPad 2 cases instead. Mostly because a majority of the cases that fit the CDMA iPhone 4 will also fit your iPhone 4S. It's like magic! Money-saving magic. Maybe.
This week, check out a protective snap-on case from Macally, a very-thin carrier from Bodyguardz, a faux-SmartCover case from Griffin and a super-secure Security Case from Kensington. Read on!
Whether you waited in line or at home for the UPS delivery person, the last thing you want to do is sour that wait time by dropping your brand new iPhone 4S to its death. Okay, fine, that was kind of dramatic. But it is still made out of glass and prone to scratches and cracks. Protect it with a case from this week's Best Case Scenario.
I know, I know -- an iPhone refresh is imminent and I'm still covering iPhone 4 cases. But, you know what? Some of you aren't upgrading any time soon, I know this. And I also know that sometimes people get really bored of the same ol', same ol' and want to graduate to something new, and perhaps a little more artsy, like the Incase Bird's Nest Snap Case featured in this week's Best Case Scenario. I also know that you can't sell an iPhone 4 with a battered chassis, so do cover it up in a protective case like the Speck ToughSkin or IvySkin Wrangler Case. And, there are a bunch of ridiculous products out there, including one that claims to make it easier to hold the phone with your shoulder. But does it really work? You won't find out unless you click "read more".
Cases--we needed them to shield our iPhone 4s and our iPads from the inevitable crash and burn they could suffer after months of hardcore usage. Not only that, but with all the movies you're making with your iPhone 4, there's bound to be a time you'll drop it onto the floor, just to see that gorgeous retina display shatter into a million little pieces. Or, at least, force you to high tail it to the Apple Store for a replacement unit.
When it comes to things like MacBook sleeves and iPhone cases, we don’t often go for flash. Basic black works just fine. It coordinates with everything, doesn’t show dirt, and works for business or casual settings.
But black gets a bit dull. Sometimes you need a splash of color or the visual variety of a pattern. Especially for guys (who don’t have as much opportunity as ladies to add unique accents in their wardrobes), it’s refreshing to be able to outfit your tech gear with a bit more panache. Enter Incase and L.A. art collective Arkitip (arkitip.com), who have teamed up to offer a series of MacBook Pro sleeves and iPhone cases printed with original art by Evan Hecox, whose gorgeous work focuses on “average people as they traverse the modern metropolis.”
The iPad is different things to different people. For some, it’s mostly a reading machine--books, magazines, blogs, and news sites. Others are using it as a partial laptop replacement, adding in a Bluetooth keyboard and using it for work-related tasks. If your iPad spends most of its time in your lap, a dedicated stand might not seem important, but if you’re putting in a lot of keyboard time, a stand is a worthy investment. Let’s look at three of the best options.
