Research in Motion is finally launching their own answer to the iPad on April 16 in the form of the BlackBerry PlayBook, and if the rumors are true they’ll even be hitting iOS with a new BlackBerry Messenger app shortly thereafter.

One of the caveats for developers when it comes to WWDC, is the chance to be considered in Apple's Apple Design Award Competition, which is a program that recognizes apps that "set the standard for excellence" on Apple's platforms. For the millions of gamers who enjoyed the games of Bizarre Creations, last year ended with some sad news. Their financier had elected to shut down the game studio. Bizarre was the studio behind the popular Project Gotham Racing series as well as Geometry Wars (of which there are innumerable clones on the App Store). However, from the ashes of Bizarre Creations comes Hogrocket, a new micro studio formed by veterans of Bizarre in Northwest England.
