A new report from Mike Walkley, an analyst at Canaccord Genuity, seems to have caught Android users sneaking out the back door of iPad's house. Apparently, given the choice between an Android tablet or an iPad, Android smartphone users are crushing on the sexy iPad.
Is the iPad so enticing that it will seduce Android users to other iOS and OS X devices?
Among mobile phone users, one third of you use smartphones, and more of you who do choose Android and iOS devices.
The latest numbers in a report from comScore indicate that smartphones now represent one in three of all mobile phones in the US. Of the 234 million Americans using mobile phones during a three month period ending in May 2011, 76.8 million of them used smartphone devices like the iPhone that offer enhanced features and computing power. This milestone represents an increase of over 11 percent from the preceding three month period.
According to a recent study, over one quarter of all applications downloaded to smartphones are used once and then never touched again. This speaks volumes to the advice that moms have been giving their children for generations: You only get one chance at a first impression.
