Speculation is running rampant about what Steve Jobs & Co. might try to pull off tomorrow with their emergency press conference. Will they man up, and admit that there's some issue of some kind that needs addressing? Or will Steve pull a Jedi mind trick on everyone, all the while publicly flogging AT&T, Consume Reports, and anyone else who gets in the way of his plan for worldwide domination? More importantly, how will you react?
The best way to personalize your new iPhone 4 is with a case, especially now that Apple has gone on record by recommending one to solve reception issues caused by the handset’s antenna. However, it appears that the early crop of cases -- including Apple’s own Bumpers -- leave a lot to be desired.
So every time you slap your iPhone 4 into your left hand, your calls start dropping. You could run out and buy yourself one of those fancy Apple bumpers for $29. But let's face it, you're a little cheesed at having to spend another 30 bucks to fix Apple's problem here. Enter this DIY genius.
Reception issues aside, one way a financial analyst thinks Apple could resolve the problem, without hardly affecting their bottom line is to either heavily discount the bumper accessory or better yet, give them away. Regardless, it's being believed that the antenna issue is "overdone."
Apple's iPhone Bumpers are doing surprisingly well. Shipping is actually delayed for several colors, including pink, orange, blue and white--which we can't help assuming is because of Apple's decision to omit the white iPhone 4 from its debut date. The colored Bumpers won't be shipping until July 16th, though the black Bumpers will be readily available come June 24th.
