As Apple's main summer event, WWDC, draws ever closer, so does the quantity of rumors that seem to surround the event on an annual basis. Normally we see the next iteration of the next iPhone during this time, but lately the scuttlebutt is an unveiling of the next iOS at WWDC with the iPhone release to follow a few short months after. However, according to reported WWDC invites being handed out to select British journalists, we might catch a glimpse of the next iPhone sooner than we thought!
Now that U.S. carriers have started rolling out their 4G LTE networks, all eyes are on Apple as we wait to see when the technology might come to the iPhone. A new report claims it’s unlikely to launch until 2012, while production of the current iPhone 4 is slowing down ahead of the next model expected in September.
By this date on the calendar, we’d usually be within spitting distance of a new iPhone -- but that’s all changing this year, with rumblings that an iPhone 5 won’t appear until September.
