A new secret-squirrel-supported theory floated today alleges that Apple will release a free (with a two-year contract) version of the iPhone this fall along side a revamped iPhone 5. Apple's supposedly internally referring to this new device as the iCloud iPhone because it will apparently rely on the new iCloud service in place of internal storage.
While neither company is popping the champagne just yet, rumors claim that Apple and China Telecom have reached a “preliminary agreement” that would bring not one, but two iPhones to the carrier this fall -- the iPhone 5 and a scaled-down iPhone 4.
