Over the past couple of years, we've reviewed Mophie's "juice packs" for extending the battery life of your iPhone with varying degrees of praise, but the company's latest announcement may be the most intriguing yet. At CES 2014 today (via 9to5 Mac), Mophie announced its new "Space Pack," which not only serves as a 1700 mAh battery case, but also bumps up the storage capacity of your iPhone by 16 or 32 GB.
It was the slightest of falls. My cat, no doubt complaining about the state of his food bowl, knocked the Mophie Juice Pack Air–clad iPhone 5 to the floor from my nightstand. It landed butter—er, case-side up. The iPhone, which absorbed all the hit, was fine. The Juice Pack, not so fine. That’s the last time it worked.
Unless you spend your entire life within arm's length of a power outlet, or you never actually use your iPhone, it’s likely that at some point you’ll get frustrated by your iPhone dying at an inconvenient moment. We’ve come to love Mophie’s battery cases, and often depend on them when away from power for a day, and there’s now an impossibly slim version built for the iPhone 5.
Did you think we'd end out the year without one last deal go-around? Well, we can't say there's anything as crazy good as last week's super price chopped iPhone 5s, but this week does have its special treats. What are they, you ask? Well, go find out, why don'tcha?
With Mountain Lion fresh out the gate, there doesn't seem to be too many deals on actual Macs this week, so cases it is. iOS accessories know no season and proliferate worse than bunnines in the springtime. We've rounded up the best of the sweet little bunnies and have just what you're looing for. Take a look at that face! How can you say no?
This is going to be a biggie. Steam is having their annual Summer Sale when the prices just go nuts around there and everything is deep deep discounts. Go checked it out! Plus, see what kinds of deals on cases and refurbs and everything else we have for you this week.
They say the best camera is the one you always carry. For most of us, that camera is the iPhone. Now, no one's saying an iPhone will take better pictures than a DSLR, but it does make for an awfully decent point and shoot, and has a ton of options (nay, apps!) for instantly sharing your photos. These accessories will help you make the photos and videos you take with your iPhone even better, and help close the gap between your iPhone and your other cameras.
Your iDevice can do amazing things—until the battery runs out. But don’t let that stop you from using it to the fullest. With the right settings or gear, you can stay charged up without sacrificing your favorite features.
