Apple continues to ramp up their new product launches, with each one becoming more ambitious than the previous one. On the heels of last Friday’s new iPad launch in the United States and nine other countries, 25 more spots on the world map are able to buy it today.
The new iPad will be a week old tomorrow, but the complaints continue to pour in about Apple’s three million-selling tablet (and they’ve likely sold many more since Monday’s announcement, we’d guess). We’ve got no complaints here -- every day with our new little friend is more glorious than the last, especially thanks to all of these Retina-optimized app updates which keep arriving. In fact, we’re off to give our new iPad another hug, so while we’re doing that, please have a look at the day’s news for Thursday, March 22, 2012, won’t you…?
The new iPad has only been on store shelves for less than a week and the complaining is already shifting from “My iPad is too warm!” to “Streaming video is eating up all of my 4G LTE data!” -- clearly first-world problems if ever they were.
It seems as if the new iPad’s potential “TemperatureGate” is flaring up and burning even hotter than this morning (okay, enough with the bad puns), but Apple is all like, “Dude, we don’t know what you’re talking about.” Between you and us, it sounds like another one of these non-issues that will wind up becoming a class action lawsuit. Yawn… new Apple product, new headaches, we guess. Thankfully there’s more going on today than just warmed-up iPads, so here’s the rest of the news for Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Draining an iPad battery has never been easy. Even before Apple's tablet had a retina display and LTE networking, we marveled at how such a thin package could be such a mobile powerhouse, sipping power as it churned through 10-plus-hours of reading, movie watching, web surfing and bird flinging. When iPad 2 slimmed down the form factor without sacrificing any precious battery power, we were duly impressed.
But now it's getting ridiculous. With the most brilliant, crystal-clear display on any device, ever, and a near-imperceptible increase in thickness--there's just no way that the new iPad can possibly live up to Apple's 10-hours-on-a-single-charge claim, at least not in any real-world situations.
Apple announced that three million new iPads found a home over the launch weekend, so there’s no denying that it’s one of the company’s hottest products to date. But did you know that it might actually be literally hotter -- as in, 10 degrees warmer than the iPad 2?
Wow! What a weekend for the new iPad, which Apple announced today moved three million units in 10 countries around the world. But new iPad owners aren’t the only ones happy today -- investors liked the sound of Cupertino’s new dividend and share repurchase plan announced early this morning, which is pushing the company ever higher. How high can they go? Is it possible for what goes up to actually stay up? These are questions we may never have the answers to -- but have a look at the news for Monday, March 19 and you be the judge.
Say, did something happen this week that made headlines? We're trying to remember what it was… Oh yeah! Now we remember. The New iPad busted down other tablet makers' doors, dragged them out of bed, and spanked them right across the bottoms. And a bunch of diehard Apple fans camped out ready to be there when it happened.
I hauled out of bed this morning and headed out to check out the commotion over at the downtown San Francisco Apple Store. This time around, things were a little tricky as construction has ripped out the sidewalk in front of the Apple Store, which had those in line queued up around the opposite side of the block. Also, it was raining, but that's why you invest in a proper raincoat, folks. Because you never know when you'll be waiting outside the Apple Store.
After you check out the gallery, please send me your launch pictures, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include the Apple Store location in the body text.
