The pet project of none other than Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, the publishing titan was joined on stage by Apple’s vice president of Internet Services, Eddy Cue as well as editorial staff to unveil the new app to the press.
It’s already one of the worst-kept secrets in tech -- News Corp. titan Rupert Murdoch has an iPad-only newspaper coming called The Daily. A January 19 date had been set to launch the new offering, but it now appears that will be delayed a bit.
We brought it to you yesterday about something being in the air as far as a potential collaboration between News Corp and Apple in regard to a iPad news app. This seems to be gaining some traction as a new report has the app set to be revealed on December 9.
Word came about today that Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corp, and Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, will reportedly reveal a new digital "newspaper" to be named the Daily at the end of the month. Murdoch feels that the joint project has the potential to be a "game changer."
