Paradox Interactive announced today that its mass transportation simulator, Cities in Motion, will be released for Mac today. A hushed silence came over the gaming sectors of the internet around noon eastern time today as a countdown clock reached zero on a web page inside Aperturescience.com. Wild speculation had preceded the countdown's finale with many people speculating the Valve was preparing a surprise early-launch of Portal 2 today rather than its scheduled April 19th release. When it finally reached zero, those folks were somewhat disappointed, but few could deny the less-than-subtle genius of Valve's latest reveal.
We were very impressed by PopCap games huge $200,000 donation to Japan relief with their generous App Store sale earlier this month. However, (even though it's certainly not a competition) we were blown away when Valve announced today that they had raised $300,000 with a recent sale. What's more, the sale isn't even over yet. The items will be availabe for charity until April 6. Let's hit half a million!

But with Lion’s summer release rapidly approaching, Cupertino has begun pulling back the curtain on what’s sure to be the biggest update to hit our favorite operating system in years.
One of the caveats for developers when it comes to WWDC, is the chance to be considered in Apple's Apple Design Award Competition, which is a program that recognizes apps that "set the standard for excellence" on Apple's platforms. Quietly announced in today's WWDC details though, was that apps must be included in the App Store by May 23rd in order to be up for an award.
