Video game publishers! Hear our cry! Mac gamers are people too, and we don't deserve to be so ruthlessly ignored when it comes to video game releases. Our Macs are more than powerful enough to run these games, you've just got to gives us a chance. We know that you all like to explain the choice not to release on Mac by saying "there isn't a critical mass of Mac gamers," but that's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Think about itL why aren't there enough Mac gamers? Because Apple fans hate awesome video games? Or because you're not releasing your games there in the first place, starving the community to near non-existence.
According to Flurry Analytics, smartphones are continuing their march to dominance in the video gaming sector. The company released a set of data accompanied by two year-on-year graphs that show the total revenue of the video game industry (console vs portable vs iOS/Android) and a more specific breakdown of portable game revenue (Nintendo DS vs PSP, iOS/Android.) As you might guess, smartphones are accounting for an ever larger share of the market.
