Each week, we highlight a selection of the most interesting, exciting, and unique new iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch titles released on the App Store. We’ve got a good mix of new options this week, from the promising Bit.Trip Run! and Anomaly 2 — both of which found success on other platforms before launching on iOS — to high-profile free-to-play offerings like Thor: The Dark World, Backyard Monsters: Unleashed, and Stack Rabbit. And if you’re seeking some Halloween-themed thrills, audio-centric horror adventure Papa Sangre II is well-timed to provide some sound-based scares.
If the Mayans are to be believed, the end of the world is only two days away -- and Bolt Creative is celebrating by pushing out the final update to the popular Pocket God game with plenty of apocalypse themed content.
WWDC 2012 week is winding down, which means things should get back to normal next week ahead of the July release of OS X Mountain Lion. Then again, Google could pull a rabbit out of its hat at its own I/O developer conference coming at the end of the month, so we have that to look forward to as well. For now, let’s get a dose of tech news for this Thursday, June 14, 2012.
Seems like this is the kind of Wednesday that the term “hump day” was designed for. Now that the iPhone has landed on three of the four major U.S. wireless carriers, Apple appears to be painting the nooks and crannies with an April 20 rollout at a number of small regional carriers who are almost entirely connected to the older CDMA technology being gradually abandoned by Verizon and Sprint. If you live in those areas, you’ll probably get a better deal, so it’s worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new iPhone. No need to thank us for that sound advice -- just show your appreciation by reading the news for Wednesday, April 4, 2012 instead.
As new iPad owners anxiously await the calendar turning over to Friday, March 16, this “hump day” is looking more agonizing than most. After all, who likes waiting, especially in this era of digital instant gratification? Unfortunately, we can’t help bend space and time or whisk you into the future, but we can try to distract you with some tech news to take your mind off that impatient waiting, courtesy of today’s recap for Wednesday, March 14, 2012.
Seems like all the big news this week is app-related! Twitter has a new iOS app update, Batman flies in with a slick new Arkham City game, OnLive is coming to iOS and a whole lot more. Hey, maybe someday we’ll all be giving virtual gifts for the holidays -- no more wrapping paper and bows, no more piles of gifts under the tree. While you ponder that future, read on for all the news from Thursday, December 8, 2011.
