We've done weekly deals where we've set the price bar at under one grand, but with recent price cuts Apple instituted this year, we think we can go one better. So this week, we're going to drop our high price down to $900. That's right: all the goodness this week is even more affordable than some of our usual deals on Macs and Apple-centric goodness. Let's get going, bargain hunters.
If you're looking for some cute stuff, we've got you covered. If you're looking for some epic adventures, we've got that too. If you're looking to scuff the crap out of your photos to give them that old-timey look, we definitely have that as well. So let's dig in and see what iOS apps getting the price-chop action this week.
They're baaaaaaack. Oh boy, do we have a roster of Mac Minis for you this week. And since they're so brand spanking new, we thought we'd only let the youngest of the Apple line onto the list, so it's all 2014 models up and newer, starting off with everyone's favorite little guy.
Well, May the Fourth be with you. We've got some sales of games galore this weekend and one of the big names topping that list is Star Wars. With their "Jedi holiday" fast approaching, this franchise is sensing a disturbance in the price column, as if loads of apps cried out and got suddenly cheaper. If that makes sense to you, head on down to the App Store. We've highlighted some of them, but by no means all, and we've got a bevy of non-Lucas-related titles on the price chopping block for the weekend as well.
We've got some workout action for you on the cheap this weekend, plus a couple really pretty productivity apps. Games? Oh, yes. And if you want to send a delightful postcard home to the family to show them what a rocking vacation you've had, then we've got something in that vein too. That and even more all packed inside with weekend's Price Drop, so come on in.
Since the new MacBook recently dropped, we figure that most Apple buyers are thinking about things that are shiny and fancy and new. Don't get us wrong; we're still touting the best of the best in the refurb market here, because that's where the deals really get awesome. But this time we're only offering up models from 2014. Anything older than that, while still likely a pretty amazing machine, and the tag of "new" (or even "newish") doesn't quite stick. These are some of the freshest re-boxed Macs on the market, and any one of these will save you loads of cash if you're looking for great deals.
Now that you've knuckled down and got your taxes in order, let productivity take a backseat to some freshly discounted apps and games. You deserve some fun, right? Games for you and games for your kids, as well as some fitness apps to help burn off any stress-eating pounds you might have experienced this week as you itemized deductions. You'll definitely save on taxes, too — sales taxes that is — with this collection of cut prices.
In today's Apple Daily, we learn that Apple seems to have sold around a million Apple Watches through preorders on the device's first day of availability alone. In addition, Apple released an update for Final Cut Pro X and its companion apps Motion and Compressor.
As of today, the Apple Watch is available for preorder, and we've already got a short-form review of the device ready here at Mac|Life. Word is still out as to whether you actually need one, but there's no longer any doubt at this point as to whether anyone wants one. In today's Apple Daily, we outline the highlights from the Apple Watch's first big day.
They're back! That's right, the beloved Mac minis, but if you've read this column before, then you know you've gotta hustle if you want to get your hands on these. So get moving and get buying because who knows when we'll see these little guys back.
