Just how well is Samsung's Galaxy Gear smart watch doing? (Remember, the one it allegedly rushed out the gate so the Korean tech giant could beat Apple to the punch?) Apparently, not so well. A new report from BusinessKorea (via AppleInsider) notes that the wearable tech has only been purchased 50,000 times since its debut last September. As of today, even with a strong advertising campaign from Samsung, only around 800 or 900 units are being sold per day.
Apple iWatch hopefuls, take note. Pebble, the maker of one of the few existing smartwatches that's truly worthy of note, just released an update that further demonstrates the effectiveness of the concept. Whereas previously users could only receives notifications for calls and text messages, now any kind of alert that appears on iOS's Notification Center will pop up on the device.
