Apple is taking an increasing amount of heat for falling behind the competition where its iPhone is concerned, but a new report claims Cupertino may step up its game with not one but two new models this year.
It seems like no matter how much Apple protests shrinking the iPad into a seven-inch form factor, the world just can’t accept it. Nor should they, if a new report is to believed which claims samples of a 7.85-inch iPad are currently making the rounds of Apple’s supply chain.
Despite recent rumblings about an iPad 3 swinging into stores this fall alongside iOS 5 and the next iPhone, it appears more likely that we’ll see it in early 2012, which is more in line with Apple’s annual update schedule. The good news is, that so-called “Retina Display” rumor continues to persist.
Now that June is winding to a close and the disappointment over no new iPhone fades into impatient waiting, it’s open season on rumors as to when the next handset will arrive. September has been widely pegged as the next likely candidate, but there could be more to that story.
Hopefully by now you’ve gotten over the fact there won’t be an iPhone 5 released in July, and you’ve made your peace with it -- but that doesn’t mean that you’ll be waiting until next year, at least according to three sources talking to Reuters.
