The heavens parted, and Spotify has finally blessed the people (at least the ones with Premium accounts, anyway) with a new universal update to its iOS app, adding native support for the iPad -- and that’s not all.
That sweet little iPad app you see there in the corner could very well be Spotify, which currently tops our list of iOS apps that really need a tabletized update. As Premium members, we look forward to blasting a barrage of ‘80s one-hit wonders from our iPad, and doubling up the screen resolution of the existing iPhone/iPod touch app simply won’t do (although it does look quite clean on our new iPad, FWIW). While we are waiting for Spotify’s special event on Wednesday, let’s kick back and soak in the day’s news for this lazy Monday, April 16, 2012.
Happy Friday the 13th! Or, maybe not, depending on what kind of luck you’ve been having so far today. We’ve got quite a mixed bag of tech news to sort through today, so take a break from watching those Jason Voorhees movies (what -- you don’t do that on Friday the 13th?) and step right up as we present the latest and greatest for this Friday, April 13, 2012.
Believe it or not, Apple can hold a boring event now and again, and today it was the annual shareholders meeting -- the first with CEO Tim Cook at the helm. Sure, the company has boatloads of cash and its only real drama at the moment is coming out of China, but guys, let’s try to spice things up for next year and at least throw some chairs at each other or something, will you? Thankfully, the rest of the tech world had a more interesting day, so without further ado, here’s all the news that’s fit to print for Thursday, February 23, 2012.
Of course there's iPad 3 rumors, of course there are. You'd be a fool not to expect them. Our only surprise is that they haven't reached such feverish blistered fingers hot levels yet. Maybe it's because Tim Cook's iPhone 4S was such a lukewarm affair compared to the Steve mojo. At any rate, we've got that and a few other spicy bits for you to chew on in this week's muy caliente roundup.
If you're a regular Spotify user, you probably know that you're favorite music service just got even better. It now features the inclusion of featured-filled apps! No longer will you have to to switch to your browser to find new music or listen to internet radio--apps make it possible to do all that from right within Spotify.
While the selection is still a little bare, we have to say the concept shows a lot of promise--apps really make Spotify the only music service you'll want to use. To add them to your account just browse through the apps section in your Spotify menu and hit "add." You won't want to miss out on these!
It’s been an interesting week in the tech world, particularly for fans of “personalized reader” apps who now have a trio of solid choices that work on screens small and large (thanks to the new Google Currents and both Zite and Flipboard going universal on the iPhone). Hey, maybe you’re even reading this right now from your Currents app -- if so, you probably want to get on with the day’s news, so here’s the best and brightest from Friday, December 9, 2011.
Probably the coolest hack we've ever seen went down this week, as well as Apple letting a tethering app slip through the store before AT&T and pals whined like little babies and had it pulled. But that wasn't all, there was just about the biggest game of the year and more in the hottest stories of the week.
Holy moley, can November really be over already? Tomorrow, December will be upon us and the deafening rumble of Santa’s sleigh won’t be far behind. Most of us are already getting in the holiday spirit, which gives us little time to catch up on what’s happening in the tech world. So without further ado, here’s a taste of what’s new for this Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
It's Black Friday, and you might be sleeping off your pre-dawn shopping binge and missed the news; but it's also the day after Thanksgiving, so you might have been too busy stuffing cranberry sauce into your chops to keep up; and, last but not least, it's two days after you sat for hours in bumper to bumper holiday traffic, where you couldn't see these hot news stories. Luckily for you, we have a sweet leftover plate of the week's hottest newsflashes and we know you're going to gorge yourself on these awesome Apple stories.
