If by some chance you happened to miss out on one of the best video game experiences of 2012, Telltale's excellent adaptation of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead is on sale in the App Store. Individual episodes have received a deep discount for a limited time, and picking up the whole bundle will save you a few bucks more.
One of the biggest Game of The Year contenders on any platform, Telltale's Walking Dead game has just received its third iOS episode, Long Road Ahead. The next chapter in the zombie-infested adventure is available for in-app purchase, or right away if you purchased a season pass for all five episodes.
Sometimes, a video game's narrative, mechanics, and platform complement each other in such a seemingly perfect way. While Telltale's Walking Dead: The Game is far from the first adventure game to shine on iOS devices – the same developer has other titles on the App Store, in fact – few have emerged as splendidly. The Walking Dead is emotionally charged, wonderfully paced, and a fine example of why the adventure genre is such a concise fit for the iOS hardware.
It's my last Friday before maternity leave. So with visions of onesies dancing in my head, I present to you these awesome apps that are at newly lowered prices -- many in honor of the just-born iPhone 4S. After all, a new phone deserves some shiny new apps, does it not? Now you'll spend less money in the App Store, and have more money for diapers. (Yes, I realize I'm the one buying the diapers, not you. But bear with me here. I'm in no condition to argue...)
