It's official: there are too many iOS games. It's harder than ever to spot the great ones among all the junk, so we've done the hard work for you and collected the classics for this list. Over the weekend, a large amount of top iPhone, iPod touch and iPad apps started to go free for the first time ever, suggesting Apple may be about to celebrate the App Store's fifth anniversary in grand style.
Although it may not be a household name like Angry Birds, developer Andreas Illiger definitely had a hit on his hands with the iPhone game Tiny Wings. Now, the app has been souped up with a huge 2.0 update, also introducing a new version for the iPad.
It seems like every week the Mac|Lifecrew is addicted to another app. It's not affected by genre, price, or even the amount of fun we're having, but rather what we've downloaded most recently. The sharing process usually starts the same too, someone says "Hey other editor, have you played this game?" And then all the sudden everyone's playing it and we can't stop. But of all the addicting apps we've found, these are the ones that we just can't stop playing, no matter how hard we try.
The Angry Birds aren't the only feathered characters raking in the cash on the App Store this week. Indie sensation Tiny Wings has stormed the App Store and won over thousands of hearts. It's adorable concept (trying to help a little bird fly) has propelled it into the top 10 Top Grossing list on the App Store, and it's doing even better in the UK.
