PlugBug is a simple, slick-looking solution for those who are loaded with Apple gizmos but short on wall outlets. That’s probably a pretty niche audience, so sticking with standard iOS device power adapters and saving $35 will be the better choice for most folks. But for travelers who regularly find difficulty in charging their iPhones or iPads alongside their MacBooks, this diminutive device could be a godsend.
I’ve been looking for a functional wallet/iPhone case hybrid for years. The allure of carrying -- and keeping track of -- one fewer item would simplify my life, and putting some decent protection on my phone wouldn’t suck. At first glance, the BookBook by Twelve South seemed like the answer to my prayers. However, after using it for a month straight, I really wish I’d prayed just a little bit harder.
The second we laid eyes on the Magic Trackpad, we had one thought: “Please oh please let it magnetically snap onto Apple’s Wireless Keyboard!” Alas, it was not so, which is why we lit up again when we heard about Twelve South’s MagicWand, a simple-seeming doodad that links those two peripherals. Unfortunately, disappointment once again followed as the MagicWand can sometimes be surprisingly difficult to set up.
