This morning, Valve announced a new add-on for its immersive, co-op zombie killing game, Left 4 Dead. "The Sacrifice" is due for release on October 5 and will continue to chronicle the struggle between the remaining Left 4 Dead survivors as they make their way to the South. "The Sacrifice" will also introduce a new style of finale gameplay called "Sacrificial Gameplay", where the players can device who will give their life so that other may live.
It was inevitably going to happen, and now that your friends and neighbors are walking around looking to sink their rotting teeth into some braiiiiiins you have to get out of here. Wait, what are you reading this for? Run away!

Valve’s seminal shooter series brilliantly blends platforming and puzzle solving into its action. Sadly, most folks are still waiting for a conclusion to the killer cliffhanger at the end of the second pseudo-sequel, Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Fortunately, Mac gamers have plenty of catching up to do. Half-Life 2 is a pretty straightforward first-person shooter, but it has some nitty gritty stuff worth knowing. Check it out after the cut!
What combination of love-to-hate-’em videogame villains could outmatch
the absurdity of a Nazi zombie? That shtick was the backbone for the
incredibly popular (and aptly named) Nazi Zombie bonus mode in
Treyarch’s console and PC shooter, Call of Duty: World at War. After
making millions of dollars on downloadable maps, we can see how a
portable port seems only natural. The enjoyment of the original game,
however, is almost completely buried beneath a heap of flaws.
