WOW!! Great looking bags. I like the orange one with the green liner. I could keep my macbook pro in there along with my latest issue of MacLife. I am currently using a Dakine pack that doubles as my riding pack in the winter. Sure would be nice to have a bag specifically for my laptop so its protected at all times.

I would like a green bag to put my macbook pro in.

I have a well-used inCase backpack for my MacBook Pro. The front pocket has 3 toothpicks (1 used...yuck), a half roll of mints, 3 pens, two highlighters and two Excedrine Migraine tablets. Inside slot one you'll find extra ear plugs (for those loud hotel rooms) along with a spare ethernet cable and a folding plastic travel brush given to me by an airline for stranding me overnight in Atlanta. At least my hair can look good after sleeping all night on the airport floor.

The main compartment holds my MBP, iPad, power supply, cables, usb hub, mouse, flash drives, a couple more toothpicks, some loose change, a slightly-used toothbrush and 2 dog-eared copies of MacLife for those long flights.

Please take pity on me and award me one of those cool bags to replace the frayed, worn-out case in my office. I'm not picky, I'm grateful and not above begging, if needed. MacLife mags deserve to be carried in something that screams "cool"...something my current bag hasn't done since last Christmas. Thank You!

Bought my brother a Crumpler bag and he loves it. Hope to get one some day!

I would love the orange one. i would keep my laptop, my kindle, and my mp3 player in it.

Right meow I'm using an old army bag to haul around my iPad and my history book. Along with that i've got some homemade noise canceling headphones and two pens......i could really use a new (read: free) bag!

avatar

I like the Timbuk2 bags

avatar

Outrun1986

I like the green bag, I would keep my iPod touch, books, documents and personal things like a wallet in it.

Definitely like the crumpler bag. If my plan goes as I've imagined, I will be getting a MacBook for Christmas. I currently carry my iPad and iPod in an old dingy camouflage messenger, which commonly is mistaken for some urban-styled purse. Other than the iPad and iPod, you can generally find a pair of in-ear Bose headphones, as well as a pair of on-ear wireless Sennheiser headphones. Along with some clutter of work documents, thumbdrives, and cheap sunglasses. So, any help, to keep me from carrying this androgynous would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Right now I'm hauling around an old grey Swiss Gear bag. That thing is packed with my laptop and all it's accessories. Headphones, mouse, etc. It also sometimes doubles as my purse... so I've got gum, lip balm, makeup, loose change and some books floating around in there sometimes. I need some organization! I would love to win the messenger bag. It screams chic!

I'm with the messenger bag all the way! I am sitting in my hotel room looking at my bloated- small and worn carry bag with my 13" MacBook Pro, my flash dirves, my small verbatim external hard drive, my iPhone charger, charging cable for my laptop, car keys and some reading material and am definitely in need of something like the messenger bag. I was very impressed with the article on the two bags.

Currently I tote a JanSport backpack with textbooks, an iPod, and a couple of pens and pencils. I'm a college student.

avatar

tparker1629

I'd use it to carry my 13" MacBook Pro, sketchbook and camera

avatar

uhamster

Right now I keep my stuff in the fairly standard red Jansport backpack. I put my iPad, notepad, writing instruments, DS lite and goggles in them. It'd be awesome to upgrade to one of those bags up there (I like the purple one)!

avatar

bsonyab

Gimme, gimme, gimme!! In need of a new bag yesterday!

avatar

berecca6863

I like the green one. Right now I do not take my Macbook Pro with me to work b/c I dont have a bag. I could really use it so I can do homework on the train.

avatar

The Oakley S.I. Computer Bag is my absolute favorite bag. I keep my MacBook Pro, photography portfolio, passport, cords, cables, chargers, extra batteries, iPhone, iPod, iPad, voice recorder, business cards, camera, memory cards, external hard drive, & blank dvds. I love the overall design because it is multifunctional and I really like the D-Rings.

avatar

matt torkelson

My favorite bag is my red, Feuer Bag made of recycled fire hose! In it I keep my Macbook, a deck of cards, my SkullCandy headphones, my favorite book(at the time) and of course, at least two MacLife magazines!

avatar

imjasonc

I would keep my 15" MacBook and other electronics in the pack. I like the orange bags looks the best.

Being a Full -time student at the university of arizona and taking a few religious course at pima college and volunteering 80 hours a week on a crisis line I have to carry my net book, and Ipad/ key board so I am ready for whatever I may need. I am legally Blind and I use a wheelchair so I am trying to find the right thing to carry my technologhy and it has to be something I can easily access.

I love purple.
i have the ipad wrapped in "Hard Candy" (purple)

I just need to figure the best way to safely carry my equipment, beyond trying to find a way to listen to my tunes, type notes and listen to the voice over on the Ipad.
I wish that was a bit smoother.

but I love my technolghy I have a black skin "incase" I have to switch and sometimes leave one of the toys behind even thought the Ipad is a bit more important due to the apps - the medical apps are beyond explanation it is one of those have to se things..

I carry Netbook, Ipad, keyboard, mouse(soon) Bose headset, cord upon cors upon cords, and a live scribe / notebook. a few pencils still like the manual not tech way of communicating

thank you
God Bless.

I have timbuk2 classic messenger in medium size. Carry everything I need. Laptop in laptop sleeve case and my sony nex5 in camera pouch.

avatar

I love my Booq Vyper Rush M. It gives me the protection I want and capacity to hold my must haves which include my hyper Mac backup battery, portable hard drive, USB memory stick and my iPad and wall charger.

avatar

cynious

I use my northface for my laptop and some books.

MostToysWins

Oops, posted twice!

I have the Waterfield (sfbags.com) medium Mambo Combo for schlepping my 17" MBP around the country. The gear pouch holds about a thousand cables, dongles, and USB sticks. I like it, even if it does "carve a groove" into my shoulder. It's one of the few messenger style bags that can safely hold the behemoth 17 without making you look like Santa Claus coming down the chimney.

avatar

kenzzz

I've got a Targus backpack to carry my 15" laptop and assorted accessories. Would love to try out a messenger bag.

avatar

him26

Doesn't green one look bit small for the laptop in the picture?
I like the color but size wise I prefer the purple if it fits the laptop.
I carry all my gadgets, phone, tumbler, water bottle and books in my bag.
Thanks

avatar

bdpiper56@hotma...

I've been carrying an ancient backback from RakGear stuffed with a macBook, iPad and iPhone Touch... The bag is really comfortable but getting a little long in the tooth...

avatar

scilynt

I could really use the orange messenger bag for my Macbook. Any color really but the orange is pretty slick! Of course I have all my other gadgets that will go into it as well but have to protect the baby!

avatar

MonkeyG

Currently use the Boa Flow M although it's overkill now that I only take the ipad to work.

avatar

scorpio3012

I travel a lot so I use a backpack to carry my laptop in it.

avatar

kkatan

I currently use a timbuk2, but a backpack is what I need now. Please!

avatar

BrianA

I just use an old Targus messenger bag. Just enough padding to protect everything without being too bulky, and just enough room to carry a laptop and the power cable.

avatar

pawolverine

On a recent trip to Russia I used a regular backpack to carry my iPad. I also had a gallon zip lock bag inside which held charger, adapters, portable hard drive, cables, batteries, etc. Not the best solution, but it worked.

avatar

SteveR

I love the Crumpler Bag.
I finally can get rid of my ratty Jansport.

What's Inside?
MacBook
G Drive external Drive
WD external Drive
iPhone
iPad
iPod shuffle(if I can find the little thing with all the other clutter)
iPhone/iPad chargers
iPhone/iPad cables
USB Thump Drives
MacBook charger
iPod headphones
iKlear cleaner and towel
Too much miscellaneous paper

Mac Life magazine (Don't leave home without it)

And would really go well with the messenger bag. I like the easy access to my Macbook Pro - the most important gadget I ever had.

avatar

My primary bag now is an olive drab/coyote colored "Radio Harness Assault Backpack/Hydration System Compatible". Here's what's in it right now: a change of underclothes, toiletry kit, shower shoes, a couple of bottles of water, one Star Wars paperback novel, my first-gen iPod Touch, medical kit, my 15" MacBook, a Clive Cussler hardback novel, charging cables for both iPod Touch and Macbook, a travel charger for my phone, oh; here's two more changes of socks (I forgot about that extra internal zippered pocket!), two pairs of earbud headphones and a headphone splitter, 4 pens and 3 sharpies, and about 30 zip ties (you never know when you need to do some cable management, right?). I've had this pack in nine countries and seven U.S. states, and it's well beyond it's lifespan...I REALLY need one of these bags!

avatar

lhsmith

Long time MacLife reader, long time Apple fan. I travel a lot carrying iPad, iPhone and iPod. The messenger bag is perfect.

avatar

KingPin_1971_Ne...

I'd like the messenger bag - stuff my Ipad and its older midget twin - the Ipod! Ying an yang the perfect twins in the perfect bag. Toss is all sorts of cables, earpieces, covers, sleeves, "Mac Lifes" (um, yes, shameless plug!) and my booq folio and I'm almost good to go! Wondering if the messenger bag has a cooler pack for my ice cold Heinekens too! Now that's a cool bag.

avatar

krossbow

The purple bag appears in the magazine to have enough pockets to carry my stuff.

avatar

Eagle Star

I would really love the Green/orange shoulder bag!
I would keep all of my mac essentials in it, including my mac book pro and my iphone. All of my cables would go in there also.
My current case for my mac book is old and very used so I would love to have a new one.
I cant wait to see who wins! Good luck everyone! :)

avatar

Bette Abdu

Thanks for the review on the messenger bag but the backpack is my choice. It is amazing how heavy a bag can get with all that space so I like the option of wearing my bag.

avatar

dbrockman

I would take the green one! I use a golla bag now. I have 17 Mac Book Pro, Apple bluetooth keyboard, external hard drive, iPad, car keys, various connection cables, and a full on double rainbow!

avatar

Flannlgrl

I currently have Kensington backpack style laptop bag. It's great, but a little much for just traveling with my laptop to the local coffee shop. The messenger bag would be great for that. Plus, the extra gear would be most excellent since I'm lacking in gear for my laptop since I haven't had it for long.

avatar

pilotcrabby

I love my Tumi messenger bag. I have had the thing for about 5 years and not a single thread has given way. I keep all kinds of stuff in it. Obviously my Macbook Pro and it's charger. My Maxtor external HD and a 4GB jump drive. An extra set of spectacles is always in my bag just in case I get a little crazy and break a pair! I have my iPhone usb connector, and a pair of ESHURE E5s. Right now I have the latest copy of maclife in the rear pouch, and get this I have a pen and a pencil in their too, craziness I know!

avatar

maryanne100@com...

I currently use a red Nine West bag but our cat has done a claw dance on it and I could really use a new one.

avatar

migrayn

That would be the one I would use most often between the two.

I would place my sketchbooks, my MBP, my ipad and the various necessities I normally carry throughout the day. I also ALWAYS have a copy of the new most recent issues of Maclife in my current bag.

I am currently using an Ogio Mastermind, but I need a new bag!!!

avatar

jordsl01

I am a technician and the backpack would be great for my back. I would carry my MacBook and all of the other tools I need to do my job like an external hard drive, thumb drives etc...

avatar

ctoro2

My choice would be the Crumpler bag. it would be easy to slip my laptop in it, along with my ipod, digital reader, my bose headphones, to which, i would switch to the HF3 in a minute. I would also slip my wallet and keys, so no more purse, followed by my latest mag, can't get it on my reader yet, writing utensils, along with my cords. Now I said that would be my choice, but in actuality I probably would put all those things in it, show it to my family and later find my things on my bed and my 19-yr old would probably have her things in it and take to her classes. Well....you asked.....

avatar

hopefully. My aging Timbuk2 bag has given all it's got. It's time for a slick new messenger bag to tote my MacBook Pro around. Plus, I could really use a new set of earbuds since I crushed my old ones.
